Barrett seems to have totally picked up the Australian language. Yes, they speak English. No, you would never know it. We have still had to learn a few new words! Barrett is adapting the best and has even started dropping the ‘r’ from most of his words. For example, his brother is now Fishah. It’s addictive, and before you know it. . . you’re eating dinnah togethah watching the weathah. It’s great fun. Here are a few more that are fun to learn:
Shopping cart = trolley
Candy = lollies
Rain boots = Gum boots
Period = Full Stop
Sweater = Jumper (Jumpah as we like to say now)
Tennis shoes = Trainers
Markers = Texters
I can’t wait to see Bear and hear him tell me all about everything he’s seen and heard and about school and if there are any aliens in Australia. I love you Mr. Bear. Melmo
